The Mustang Challenge championship leader, Andrew "Ace" Caddell, showcased his comeback abilities again, as a first turn off track excursion landed him in 12th place. Caddell and Ted Anthony (#2 in the championship) were jockying for first place at the start of the race, the two making contact in turn one and both drivers spinning off. The paint swapping session resulted in the two rejoining the race in 12th and 13th place respectively.
Ace has already proven that he can start in last place and finish on the podium, so after the spin he took the #1 Kaufmann Racing Mustang up to second place behind race winner Tony Buffomante, who turned in a great drive finshing just feet ahead of Caddell at the end.
Caddell was happy to retain the championship points lead scoring pole position and garnering P2 points for the day. As icing on the cake, Ace was able to break the Mustang Challenge lap record at Mosport during the Sunday morning qualifying session with a 1:30.759.
